Buddy Daddies: Overview
Buddy Daddies is an original story created by Vio Shimokura and Yuko Kakihara, meaning it is not based on a manga or a light novel. It is inspired by some members of the staff who have children.
The story revolved around Kazuki Kusuru and Rei Suwa, assassins by profession. Each of them has a dark past: Kazuki lost his family due to his job and Rei trained to be an assassin under strict conditions since childhood.
While on an assignment, Kazuki finds a 4-year-old Miri Unasaka looking for her father. The target of the assassination turns out to be her father.
After their father’s death, Kazuki and Rei become her guardians. But taking care of a child is not as easy as it sounds. They go through all kinds of trouble as they struggle to keep their profession a secret while managing Miri.
Buddy Daddies is animated by P.A. Works. The opening theme song is “Shock!” by Ayase, while the ending theme song is “My Plan” by DURDN. The art in both the OP and ED is a treat for the eyes.
The anime has a rating of 7.76 on MAL, with mostly positive responses from the viewers. It is expected to increase as the story goes further.
